In this algorithmic trading strategy video, our lead developer compares Algorithmic Trading with other styles of technical trading. To do this, he locates a MACD Trading Strategy found online through a google search, codes up the strategy and shows the results of this strategy. He also performs an optimization to demonstrate how optimization works. This is the first video in a series that will examine different “common” strategies that are found all over the internet and in trading books. While not always the case, many times these strategies are short on details and long on expectations. Should anyone be trading these non-algorithmic trading strategies? I’m sure there are diamonds in the rough – but generally speaking, one should approach these with caution as our back-testing shows.
